New IGN Interview with Wo Long producers Fukihiko Yasuda and Masaaki Yamagiwa (Bloodborne) :

    - Souls-like
    - Nioh mission system returns
    - Set before Three Kingdoms
    - Loot system toned down
    - A direct evolution of Nioh 2's
    combat system, faster
    - Added jump button

"We wanted to take the unique elegance of Chinese martial arts and make it work as a stylish form of action.
Since game is set during the war Three Kingdoms period, we came up with a system that revolves around morale of player and enemies. Which innovates the Souls-like genre."

"We created a type of strategism with adversity in it's theme. You gain something by defeating enemies, but the same can be said for when a enemy kills the player.
The balance between strenght changes a little bit, every time someone dies."

"Compared to Nioh, you won't have to constantly upgrade your gear just to be able to defeat enemies.
The loot is much more rewarding, but we still have a big varriety of weapons to choose from."

"You can block, dodge and leap over the enemies. This seamless flow of offense and defense we feel is iconic to Chinese martial arts. There are moments of force, but also gentler side to the combat.
It's also reflected in treversal, level design is also build around jumping."

I guess it's easy to see the world the way I do. The emptiness is a promise, the sin is just the proof.
