A Sony 2010. május 11-én bejelentette a MILC (tükörnélküli cserélhető lencsés) fényképezőgépcsaládjának első két tagját, a NEX-3, és NEX-5 gépeket, APS-C méretű szenzorral. A piaci várakozásnak megfelelően az APS-C vázak rövid, de gyors evolúciója után 2013.október 13-án megjelent az első full frame méretű érzékelővel szerelt Sony MILC ILCE-A7 néven. Az összefoglaló a rendszert átlátni próbál segítséget nyújtani.

Tamron hivatalos közleménye:
"In combination with our lens 28-75 mm F / 2.8 Di III RXD (Model A 036) which was released on May 24, and Sony mirrorless camera, "When focusing on movies, We confirmed the phenomenon that AF does not operate properly under circumstances ".
We are investigating now and plan to respond by updating firmware.
Firmware update can be executed from a Sony mirrorless camera compatible with firmware upgrade. For details, we will show you on the "support information" page at a later date.

“Tamron Canada sent me an email saying that the engineers in Japan are aware of the issue with certain lenses and they are most likely working on a firmware update to fix it soon. I think it's only happening with the A73 too, because I tried to replicate the problem on an A7R3 and it continued to work fine. Might just because they didn't have as much time with the A73 to figure out the quirks”
